At the height of Sex in New York and with John Galliano in front of Dior, the model ‘Saddle’ was the most coveted of celebrities. Now his leadership could be repeated again.
In the newly inaugurated new millennium, Carrie Bradshaw dictated the trends. The absolute queen, neither influencers nor Instagram had nothing to say yet. The protagonist of Sex in New York had, among the hundreds of handbags, a favorite model: it was the Saddle of Christian Dior, designed by John Galliano, then creative director of the brand. The one known as ‘Diorissimo’ was a phenomenon that reached celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Paris Hilton or Mischa Barton. Names that today have gone into the background but in the middle of the year 2000 were the greatest reference of style. As happened with them, the Saddle was also superseded by the new ‘it-bags’ and the Millennial generation sought new fashionistas goals. Until today. Because it seems that Dior is willing to relive this legend of accessories. First it was Maria Grazia Chiuri who, in her last parade, brought out a new version of Saddle, taking up her most authentic version, that of the logo print.

The maximum expression of the ‘Diorissimo’ returned to step on the catwalks.
The model Elsa Hosk took the floor and posed with the model ‘Saddle’ more colorful on several occasions, returning to place this accessory on the radar of the ‘fashion insiders’.
More recently it has been Kim Jones, the new creative director of Dior Man, who has versioned the Saddle in the form of a fanny pack. In python and skin appeared on the waist of the models in his last parade.
In a change of pace and location from the kind of work for which she is most recognized, the renowned photographer @Jackie_Nickerson was backstage at the Dior Men Summer 2019 show to document the accessories appearing in @MrKimJones' debut collection for the House. After years discontinued, the followers of this bag are in luck because in addition to returning to be among the most coveted, Dior has it again for sale in several models.
