NYFW 8-14 February
The Big Apple hosted its most important week of the year in the fashion scene. For seven days the New York Fashion Week showed the latest proposals of the most important designers of the country for the season Autumn Winter 2018-19
On day 1 of NYFW the excessive glamor of the more eighties Beverly Hills came to life on the Park Avenue Armory catwalk thanks to Tom Ford. The Texan resorted to the most bling bling theme of sequined sweatshirts, hair jackets, lamé leggings and much animal print in all colors.
But what stood out most on the high-impact runway were the sparkling accessories with a feminist claim: the purse with the Pussy Power message to praise feminine power.
The message was clear and straight to the point: “Pussy Power” underlined with sequins and electrifying colors and engraved on the kitten heels and bags, because for a woman these two are objects of desire.
One of the big bets of Victoria Beckham and Sies Marjan in New York Fashion Week is the combination of clothes and accessories.
Victoria Beckham proposes Loden coats to match a XXL shopper.
Sies Marjan applies the combination trend to its laminated fabrics, either in dull pink or with iridescent mirror effect.
On day 5 of NYFW we received the news of the Carolina Herrera’s retirement. she will remain in the company as ambassador for the global brand, a title she chose herself, while Wes Gordon, the 31-year-old design prodigy, who has spent almost a year behind “behind the scenes” as his creative advisor, will assume the position of creative director.
